Illinois Family Farm Law Project is a collaboration of:
Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. Prairie State Legal Services Farmers' Legal Action Group, Inc. University of Illinois Extension
The goal of the Illinois Family Farm Law Project is to provide farmers with help with their current legal problems and to assist them in avoiding financial problems. For example, lawyers from the legal services programs can help a farmer with an immediate dispute with the government or with a lender. University of Illinois Extension will provide written materials and workshops to farmers who want to plan for and adapt their operations to the changing trends in agriculture. The legal services program attorneys may then be able to help farmers make the planned changes, for example, by drafting and/or negotiating contracts for marketing of specialized crops.
